Let me just add to this quote from Karen Stratton in Rebecca White’s story.

“She said several council members are also concerned that the money used to pay for SREC operations, which comes from a one-tenth of 1% tax Spokane County voters passed in 2017, is only designated for new radios and communication towers.”

You are exactly correct Council Member Stratton, but it goes well beyond that from the standpoint of how taxpayers dollars are spent, including how much money to date has been spent by SREC (Formerly SPOCOM) including the amount spent to lay the cables to the proposed new sight and the staffing costs of SREC/SPOCOM.

One of my many character flaws is that I get very suspicious when a government organization supported by taxpayers dollars changes its name.

Ooops…Brandi Peetz missed yet another meeting…who would have guessed.

Anyone who took the time to go back and study all the minutes of SREC/SPOCOM would easily identify that it has been a CLUSTER from the beginning, and there is no accounting of where they have spent all of our money.

Anyone with any sense before making any decisions, including laying off staff like Teresa Sanders and Mayor Condon have done would request that an audit of SREC/SPOCOM be done which very easily could be a predictor of how tax dollars would be spent for an emergency communications center by the same people who entirely control SREC/SPOCOM.

Let me just also add to this quote from Karen Stratton in Rebecca White’s story.

“Stratton said she also is concerned that there may not be enough money from the tax to pay for the communication centers and emergency communications infrastructure long-term.”

Exactly right Council Member, but how could you possibly project long-term costs when you don’t have a clue because of all the secrecy of what the costs of this CLUSTER will be in the next two years let alone “long-term”?

Yes, indeed Teresa Sanders and Mayor Condon would like people to completely forget about the past failures of Steve Reinke, even though they are very easy for reporters to document.

One would think that Steve Reinke who is the Executive Director at Spokane Regional Emergency Communications would want to show up during Spokane City Council Study Sessions when SREC/SPOCOM is a topic for study…but he doesn’t and the study sessions and the input is limited to Mayor Condon, Teresa Sanders, and of course Gavin Cooley (Affectionately known around City Hall as GFG).

Why doesn’t Reinke show up? Maybe it is because the CC might ask some tough questions?

Of Course, SREC/SPOCOM and Reinke made it very plain to the City Council that they don’t want the City Council to know anything or representation from elected officials other then of course…hold your horses…their “subject matter expert” Ozzie Knezovich.

Mayor Condon, Teresa Sanders, as well as Chief Brian Collins would just love to have the public and the City Council believe that all the Fire Chiefs are on board with everything SREC/SPOCOM does, but nothing could be further from the truth. As a matter of fact the Inland Empire Fire Chiefs Association, is not on board with everything SREC/SPOCOM is doing and want any questions the City Council might have for them to go directly through them unfiltered by SREC/SPOCOM apparently because of some issues with trust.

There is absolutely no question in my mind that this entire taxpayer funded CLUSTER is being pushed by the Spokane County Commissioners with the assistance of Mayor David Condon, who by the way will be looking for another job pretty soon (County Commissioner?), Teresa Sanders, GFG, and a  “subject matter expert”.

“I want someone who has a full understanding of a metro-policing model,” Condon said. “I think this is a good time to relaunch the search.”

The ongoing battle between factions trying to get Washington State Legislator Matt Shea removed from office and those supporting him hit a new low on April 30, 2019 at 6:17 PM when an individual who utilizes various Fake Facebook Accounts posted on an Anti-Shea Facebook Group started by Media Sources Tanner Rowe and Jay Pounder shortly after they reported issues with Shea to the Media.

The name of the Facebook Group is “Inland Northwest Politics, Issues, and Events”.

Inland Northwest Politics, Issues, and Events has a somewhat eclectic membership which includes some progressive folks, conservative folks, and indeed gun aficionados.

It is the gun aficionados on both sides that worry me, we sure as heck don’t want a shooting war breaking out.

Unfortunately, the Facebook Post falsely accusing “Shea’s crew” of committing a Felony brought out some of the gun aficionados in the Rowe/Pounder corner, and Tanner Rowe dangerously helps to exacerbate the situation and encourage those folks.

If you went to the link I provided above to the Inland Northwest Politics, Issues, and Events Group you might wonder what the heck I’m talking about. The act is that the FB Page has been scrubbed and former member Jen Anderson has been removed since I exposed that the post was a lie and the poster a FAKE.

You can get a feel for how I exposed the truth on my FB Page. The Fake Facebook account of “Jen Anderson” has of course also been deleted and the “Jen Anderson” comments don’t show up currently, but I do of course have a complete record. It was probably a good idea to do all the scrubbing since it is my understanding that lawyers are now involved, but if it gets to Court if will all be discoverable anyway including the details of the Fake FB Account.

A truly common denominator in this battle between factions is Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich, something any rookie crime analyst would be able to establish with even a rudimentary “Link Analysis”.

Knezovich said he had obtained the document and other materials on a flash drive about six weeks ago. “I gave it straight to the FBI,” he said.

Ozzie and Bob even went so far as to falsely accuse Caleb Collier of writing this anonymous letter he received during that election himself.

I have to admit during that time period I did enjoy Caleb Colliers wife Jill Collier beating up on Ozzie and exposing some lies on the on the Spokane Liberty Caucus FB Page.

In situations like this the question always comes up as to whether or not someone is using a surrogate to post things on social media they want out for the public and the media to see, and I’m sure some folks have in their mind because of Ozzie’s hatred of Shea and Collier would he use a surrogate to disseminate information adverse to both…who knows…but according to one of my sources it sure isn’t beneath him, and the source has supplied me with a lot of evidence that it isn’t beneath Ozzie. As always you of course will have to decide for yourself.

Let me be clear, and I don’t care whether you believe it or not, I’m not a Matt Shea fan, surrogate, conspirator, backer, friend, supporter or anything of the kind. I am however a truth advocate and the very false allegation against “Shea’s crew” was NOT THE TRUTH and was despicable!

A dynamic which should flood social media with opinions from both Progressives and Conservatives.

Having no particular political ideology, I look at this from the outside looking in and just want to point out a few things which might aid both sides in the discussion.

From the Conservative perspective it would be awful hard to dispute that Shawn Vestal is a diehard Progressive who’s columns and social media posts clearly reflect his political ideology as does this column. Shawn most certainly would love to see Donald Trump impeached, indicted, and sent to prison. Conservatives should however make note of the fact that Shawn Vestal as publicly admitted that he is “about 87 percent non-sense spewing”. 😊

From the Progressive perspective, although James McDevitt has been fairly prolific at stating his ideology but certainly not to the point of a weekly plus column in the Spokesman Review, I thought I should kind of help my Progressive friends out by providing a little background on James McDevitt.

As you may remember Jim McDevitt was primarily the one responsible for bringing us the likes of former Chief Frank Straub, and McDevitt’s friend former Assistant Chief Selby Smith. Beyond that McDevitt was Conservative Mayor David Condon’s very, very controversial choice to supposedly straighten out the Spokane Police Department, that didn’t work of course, and nothing has changed at SPD, as a matter of fact many SPD Officers believe McDevitt made things worse at SPD.

Jim McDevitt and his wife Gretchen have been deeply involved with the Republican Party at the local and National level for years, so I can only assume that Shawn Vestal chose McDevitt over the new local US Attorney (If Confirmed) Bill Hyslop because Shawn had a darn good idea what kind of quotes he would get from McDevitt, but it might make sense when you consider Vestal’s previous columns regarding McDevitt.

This quote from McDevitt in Vestal’s column struck me right away, “I’d rather be a part of the solution and not a part of the problem.” The reason is struck me is when McDevitt left the US Attorney’s Office he had a bit of a consulting career and during that career he revealed where he stands ideologically. McDevitt was hired by Washington State DSHS as a consultant to look into how DSHS handled fraud investigations, why the hired McDevitt who has zero investigative experience I never could figure out. McDevitt in that consulting Gig documented his “solutions” which I would think is good fodder for the Progressive side.

As you can see McDevitt believes in order to get benefits people should be randomly drug tested, and benefits should not be paid to “illegal aliens”. McDevitt even admits his beliefs are “Controversial”.

This quote from McDevitt sure threw me for a loop I’m not sure what he was trying to say?

“If I were only wealthy, I’d have a bigger house,” he said. “If I would only win the lottery, I would be wealthy. How ridiculous is that?”

A. He is wealthy by most standards.

B. He lives and has for years along with Gretchen in a big house on High Drive with an assessed value of $611,600.00 and a tax assessment of $7,301.31, so I don’t think he needs a bigger house.

C. He really doesn’t need to win the lottery, he is pretty well set.

I realize people aren’t privy to all the information I have, but I will tell you this, Jim McDevitt and his wife are real interesting folks with lots of interesting opinions and they don’t always speak real highly of people that one would think they would.
