To somewhat coin a phrase used by James Carville during one of the Clinton campaigns.

The good Cops frustrated with the Culture at the Spokane Police Department once again risk retaliation and bring their concerns to me about a case they were concerned would be swept under the rug by Mayor Nadine Woodward’s Chief of Police Craig Meidl much like the attempt to cover-up the Dan Lesser and other cases that I’ve been able to expose with the help of Good Cops and others.

This time the case involves excessive viewing of pornography using SPD equipment while on duty.

I will not get into all of the details I’m aware of regarding the case here and will only at this point provide a copy of the email I sent to OPO Bart Logue, whom I am sure was not made aware of the case and only learned about it from me.

To be clear, the restrictive OPO Ordinance allows SPD to keep Internal IA Investigations such as this one from the OPO and without someone bringing those Internal IA Cases to the OPO’s attention he likely would never know.

Why would SPD try and sweep something like this under the rug? The answer is pretty obvious, if the Public were to find out that yet another example of SPD’s treatment of women exists it would just add to the other black eyes they have received on similar issues including the conviction of former SPD Officer Gordon Ennis and the aftermath of that case with other SPD Officers receiving punishment.

Aside from the Ennis case SPD has a history of shoddy rape investigations for which some Officers have received Bad Boy Letters.

Beyond SPD’s treatment of women there is also the issue of staffing and workload which according to SPD is so bad they can’t handle all the work. Obviously if a Cop has time to watch porn on duty in a way which has been described to me as “excessive” he at least needs more work to do and the question arises as to how many others need the same.

Many of the Good Cops who were hoping for a Culture Change are frustrated with new Mayor Woodward as she is giving no indication she will get rid of Craig Meidl the Karl Thompson Salute Participant who former Mayor Condon manipulated and orchestrated the hiring of. In their view as well as mine no changes at he top means no changes in CULTURE.

You might ask why Jacquelyn MacConnell the former Phoenix Police Officer who was hired by SPD as the Director of Strategic Initiatives overseeing the Spokane Police Department’s IA Unit and who is supposed to provide a “Civilian Voice” to the IA Process is pictured above, the reason is simple Public Records demonstrate she did all she could to mitigate the Dan Lesser video, and she being a woman should have at least some concern about the conduct of Officer Cole. Since the OPO and the Public now knows what is going on it will be pretty hard to try and mitigate this one and it is her responsibility to make sure this one is properly investigated and proper discipline if that is where the evidence leads is given.

Cam Zorrozua, whom I have a lot of respect for is quoted as making this statement in SR Reporter Jared Brown’s recent story.

“Center for Justice staff attorney Cam Zorrozua said Bugbee’s rationale makes sense, given how people who have had violent interactions with the police might fear retaliation.

“I would not blame any individual for not coming forward, for self preservation,” Zorrozua said.”

Cam Zorrozua is exactly right regarding Citizen coming forward, but also consideration has to be given to the Good Cops who come forward and the retaliation they can count on because of SPD’s Culture.

After suffering through yet another Ozzie Knezovich and Jay Pounder Sheriff’s Report Anti-Shea Podcast, I am still unable to establish exactly what “The Event” is as far as Jay Pounder is concerned. Was it when he was finally able to get the MSM to listen to his story about Matt Shea? Is the ongoing battle his way of reaching out to, “Patriots who each and every day dedicate their lives to waking up the hearts and minds of the American people.”, and each new story or podcast is a part of “The Event”? Is his Anti-Shea Crusade a part of his disdain for government? Or is it simply a matter of Jay Pounder, like John Smith having a book in the works bout delivering us from evil?

I have my own theory about “The Event” put that theory has more to do with troubling psychological issues then Matt Shea, the Government, or the Economy.

Some might be wondering what the heck I’m talking about; well it has to do with Jay Pounders old Prepare Spokane Blog which he entitled “The Event”, a blog in which he expressed his opinions about many things including…amazingly “The Art of War”.

One of the interesting things about Jay Pounders old Blog is that it bares a strong resemblance to John Smith’s old Blog which helped to expose Smith’s as of yet bothering him White Supremacist beliefs.

Jay Pounder, being the type wanting to make sure he got the word out even wrote a book about “The Event” entitled “The Pill” which didn’t do too well but perhaps his Matt Shea book will do better…who knows.

With young Progressives Ben Wick and Brandi Peetz taking over the reins at the City of Spokane Valley it will be interesting to see how the money flows and to whom. Along with budget issues the likelihood of disagreement and vitriol between Council Members is pretty high and will likely require someone to step up to try and referee. Although Brandi Peetz’s father Bob West is a former referee the fact he was fired from his position with the City of Spokane for among other things “Electioneering” for his daughter would be a pretty poor choice, besides, rest assured a lot of Bob’s time will be tied up trying to dig up dirt on Council Members who don’t agree with his daughter.

The “Progressive Voters Guide” may give a good indication of where the City of the Valley is headed from the standpoint of spending.

I don’t think there is any question who would end up paying for a community center and marketplace across from City Hall, and it would be nice to see exactly what her economic plan actually is and who would benefit.

Some might remember that during Peetz’s campaign against Michelle Rasmussen she continually touted her budgeting experience while Vice President of the SCC Student Body and Office Manager at Stahl Optical. She even doubled down on her assertion in several Facebook interactions, including on one of her favorite Facebook Pages, the “Tri-County Voice”.

Having the responsibility of being responsible for taxpayers dollars is a big responsibility and is one of the reasons the Washington State Public Disclosure Commission requires candidates to file an F-1 (“Personal Financial Affairs Statement”) so taxpayers have an opportunity to take a look at how a candidate handles their own financial affairs and identify any possible conflicts of interest that might show up if the candidate is elected to office.

What I found interesting regarding Deputy Mayor Peetz’s F-1, if I’m not mistaken, is that for some reason she neglected to report some indebtedness that ended up with those pesky Debt Collection Agencies having to take her to court for payment (Associated Credit Services Inc, and Valley Empire Collections). Yes, small amounts but she needs to make sure in her new position that the City of Spokane Valley continues with a good Bond and Credit rating.

When I look at the fact that on January 30, 2019 Brandi Peetz loaned her campaign $2,000.00 at 5% interest, I can’t help but wonder not only where that money came from but also whether or not she would have been better off spending the money on some of her debt, of course she will get a 5% return on her dollar at some point, so maybe it was a good investment.

Some other things which to me at least are indicators of possible problems is the way married couples handle property transactions.

For example; On August 31, 2018 Chad and Brandi Peetz sold as community property their previous home at 9724 E. Broadway for $240,000.00 to Mike and Dayna McKenna.

Then on September 14, 2018 Chad Peetz, Brandi’s husband purchased a new residence at 911 N. Bates Road as his sole and separate property even though he was and is married to Brandi.

Spouses having separately owned property isn’t unusual and is done sometimes for tax purposes, but there are other reasons occasionally as well.

On September 17, 2018 Brandi made darn sure her husband was the sole owner of their home with a Quit Claim Deed to her husband.

Brandi Peetz likes to point out that she is an “Independent Small Business Owner” apparently owning “Various Small Businesses”.

It would be great if she does have experience running a small business, but I’ll be darned if I can find any small businesses she has owned, and I didn’t notice any reported in her F-1. I was able to find that both she and Chad were involved in someway with Le-Vel, but her whole family was and I’m not real sure her Le-Vel experience would qualify when it comes to managing a City Budget.

Brandi Peetz is a lot like her father Bob West from the standpoint of using different Facebook Accounts one account she uses my be an indicator of what she has planned as far as the City of Spokane Valley Budget is concerned…a big raise.
