OLD NEWS STORIES BECOME RELEVANT AGAIN

Yes they sure do!

As you might suspect, Reporters especially Investigative Reporters receive just tons of information daily, some of it is great information, some good, some not so good, and of course some bad. It all must be checked out of course and documented which can sometimes be a pain in the arse but many times it proves to be righteous information.

For me as a somewhat new Investigative Reporter who has been around the block many, many years I sometimes get good information that brings back memories of my days as a cop. Recently I received information that immediately recalled what we used to refer to on the job as “The Finger Folly” or “Our Number 1 Guy”, we had a lot of fun with it so I’ll pass the old stories along today for what may very well come later.

Heck the incident even made Doug Clark’s Budnick Awards!

As this one ultimately turned out Our Number 1 Guy gave himself two days off without pay!

        1. The way I got it is that it is just a download to LN of the same data in the old system. Heck either one beats those prickly pins we had to stick in maps of the City! 🙂
The thing I’m interested in is how the new multi-million dollar CAD/RMS System is going that would make the City and County finally NIBRS compliant, heard it wasn’t going too well.
