I suspect the odds for confirmation is greater than 90%. But I wonder if there is anyone who will bet against confirmation?

I just saw on the news the boy mayor selected Meidl as Police Chief. It will be interesting to see if City Council goes along with this charade. I suspect they will. The fix is in.

I would be very surprised if they didn’t put political expediency ahead of doing the right thing, and they do confirm Meidl.
I would assume the press releases and why I confirmed Meidl Facebook/Twitter posts are already being prepared, with just the right wording.
I’m trying to get a hold of my bookie to see what the odds for confirmation are but the line is always busy. 🙂

Council will “try to move the city forward” or some other such mealy mouthed platitude and vote to confirm; even Benny. The fair haired mayor wins again!
*sigh*

Yes that is the way it stacks up! “Forward”…since when?

Heard on local talk radio that Stuckart will vote to confirm.
*cough*

I’m pretty sure the majority will vote to confirm Meidl. The question is will that help or hurt their political future. My sense is that it may well hurt some of them, but we won’t know for a couple of years.
I thought Condon and the City Council would do the right thing. I guess I should have known better.
Robert Lehner said it best in his interview, “If you want a culture change go outside, if not take the internal candidate.”
Now more than ever transparency will be locked up and it will be difficult to pierce it, but we will keep at it.
