The organization Anne Kirkpatrick “travels around the country” working for is NOT the FBI. It is a 501 (c) (3) named FBI-LEEDA. If one knew the background of the company she works for they would know that saying that Kirkpatrick travels the country as a “master instructor” for the FBI attaches far more credibility than Kirkpatrick deserves. Rachel Alexander wasn’t around during the Otto Zehm/Karl Thompson case had she been, or had she checked Kirkpatrick’s background she probably would have known or discovered how Kirkpatrick mismanaged the Spokane Police Department, how much her decisions cost the taxpayers which will only be exceeded by Frank Straub’s mess, and why she left. In fact, Ozzie Knezovich was the President of FBI-LEEDA 2012-2013.

 

In reality it was Kirkpatrick’s mismanagement of SPD, and Mayor Verner’s complete confidence in Kirkpatrick as well as other stupid decisions by Verner that gave Condon the election.

I’m not sure whether Rachael Alexander took it upon herself to get a statement from Kirkpatrick, or whether someone recommended she contact Kirkpatrick, or if the statement was supplied, either way it was a big mistake from the standpoint of establishing the TRUTH about what has and is going on at City Hall and SPD.

Interesting developments in the Carlile Murder Case.

Detective Burbridge didn’t turn over the text messages between he and Delao to anyone until the US Marshalls advised him he had to. Mark Vovos got what he wanted, a subpoena for the phone records, I’m not so sure that isn’t what he really wanted in the first place instead of a mistrial, I’m sure he reserved on the mistrial issue. As for me since I don’t have subpoena power (the City Council does), I have to play the PRR games.

The Carlile Murder Conspiracy case is interesting. Most people have probably forgotten that it started out as a State Case utilizing a secret Special Inquiry Judge Proceeding where the Cops and Prosecutors obtained their evidence. As I have mentioned a number of times it looks like they had some problems with the SIJ. What was interesting today for me was that during Burbridge’s testimony he said that the County Prosecutors had their nose bent out of shape once the Feds took over…Now who could have ever predicted that especially when you consider the very public riff between Assistant U.S. Attorney Aine Ahmed and Larry Haskell over Haskell’s wife’s public comments about Muslims…but this is Spokane a place made to provide great material for writers so it only makes sense.

Some of you folks might remember Burbridge is the Detective that told the Feds to “Go Pound Sand” when they were investigating the Karl Thompson case. He also destroyed his notes regarding the Thompson case which I always found odd.

 

I wonder if I can get Mark Vovos to get a subpoena for all the text messages I’m waiting for from my Cotton/Straub PRR…he owes me a couple!

Kip Hill of the Spokesman Review wrote this story on February 15^th, 2016 which I found interesting for a number of reasons, including the issues that have come up with Robert Delao, a longtime local Spokane Hood, and the text messages between Delao and Detective Burbridge which of course should have been part of the original discovery given to the Defense.

 

Kip Hill has been reporting on the Carlile Murder Case from day one and he and I have gone back and forth in emails regarding a few things including his release of secret Special Inquiry Judge information to the Public. What I wonder about the text messages between Delao and Burbridge since apparently they go back to January of 2014 is if they had anything to do with the Special Inquiry Judge Proceeding. I would assume all of the information obtained in that Proceeding was provided to the Defense in Discovery but Hill’s story makes me wonder.

The question I would have is whether or not when Burns provided the information to SPD was a Cold Case Investigation conducted, and what were the results? Now…I also kind of wonder whether or not that information was provided to the Defense.

 

Most Investigative Reporters know that when you have a conspiracy murder case where the prosecution witnesses are crooks that rolled for deals the defense is going after the Government’s witnesses, so if it is your story and you get something you want to pay attention.

A lot of folks think the Henrickson murder case is dead bang. As for me I don’t think it is as easy as some folks think, a lot may depend on whether or not the Jury believes the bad guys that rolled, and how much evidence the Government has to corroborate the roll.

For me anyway chasing crooks would be a lot more fun, but it is for the most part a desk job with the ability to get lots of overtime so some cops might be attracted to it.

 

I thought my readers might be interested during this slow news day to learn about a recent email exchange between SPD PIO Teresa Fuller and myself. Now you want-a-be Investigative Reporters out there…don’t try and read anything into this as far as the direction I’m headed is concerned…because you might be wrong. 🙂 🙂
